Acar received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Sabanci University, Turkey, in 2009. Since July of the same year, he has been a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) under the direction of Dr. Bradley Malin, Director of Health Information Privacy Lab (HIPLAB). His research interests include data privacy, privacy aspects of data mining and privacy issues related to electronic medical record and healthcare systems.
