Rebecca Jerome, MLIS, MPH, Assistant Director at the Eskind Biomedical Library (EBL) and Adjunct Instructor in Biomedical Informatics, has worked closely with VUMC's Trauma department since 1998, providing evidence to surgeons and trainees to support education and practice in surgical critical care. Ms. Jerome has collaborated with the trauma team in the development of order sets and practice management guidelines for use at the local and national level. Ms. Jerome is actively involved in EBL's research agenda, developing and leading a preliminary evaluation of librarian consultation services provided via the electronic medical record system and playing a key role in a librarian role delineation study funded by the Medical Library Association. In 2006, she completed a National Library of Medicine fellowship in biomedical informatics and Master of Public Health degree at Vanderbilt. In her current capacity at Vanderbilt, Ms. Jerome also coordinates training and quality assurance for librarians providing evidence-based services to VUMC clinicians and patients.
