Dr. Harris is a Research Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics, with a joint appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Harris has extensive experience in the field of clinical research informatics and patient-oriented research. Since coming to Vanderbilt in 1999, he has directed the Informatics Core in the Vanderbilt General Clinical Research Center and previously served in a similar role at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Harris earned his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1996.
Dr. Harris is interested in problems associated with: 1) novel strategies for data collection, analysis and dissemination in patient-oriented and translational research; 2) noninvasive methods for determination of physiological properties; and 3) signal analysis techniques related to autonomic cardiovascular control.
