Thomas R. Campion, Jr. earned a BA in Organizational Studies and German from the University of Michigan in April 2005 and an MS in Biomedical Informatics from Vanderbilt University in December 2007. In his master's thesis, he used quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate a computerized sign-out system used by clinicians to facilitate patient handoffs. In his doctoral research, Mr. Campion is investigating social, organizational, and contextual issues of computer-based intensive insulin therapy. Research interests include clinical decision support systems, EMR and CPOE implementation, organizational issues related to informatics, social aspects of computing, and web 2.0.
